A Custom Flower Branding Project for Stang Floral Design

A good branding design both feels like you and works for your business, so when Rachel came to me for a rebrand of Stang Floral Design, I was immediately excited about all of the possibilities. As a brand and web designer, I know that flower branding is fun. It’s a way to incorporate some playfulness and whimsy into a brand design without losing the strategy behind it. Keep reading to see how we followed Rachel’s vision for her brand and created something truly magical for Stang Floral.

Flower Branding: Nailing Down the Vision

Flower branding can be done in so many different ways. You have the pastel, whimsical, soft version (like my work for Reverie Floral Design), the luxury, bold, elevated version (like Bisou Floral Studio’s branding), and then you have the girly, playful, elegant feel, which is what Rachel was craving for her brand. 

When Rachel came to me, she had a beige, generic Squarespace setup that felt more accounting firm than flower fairy. She was frustrated with her brand, knowing she wanted something that felt like her. She’s a girly-girl at heart – her favorite movie is Pride and Prejudice (the 2005 version, obviously), she loves pink, and she used to be a ballerina. She also wanted to attract higher-end clients that actually appreciate her for her design skills and craft. She wanted to work with more brides that shared her vision, because that’s exactly what creatives deserve!

Rachel had ideas all over the place but didn’t know how to blend it all into a cohesive brand. That’s where I come in. I immediately had a vision for her brand that felt joyous, a little indulgent, and had a touch of mischief.

Stang Floral Design: The Rebrand Result

We brought the brand to life with soft pinks, structured typography, and a website that felt like it bloomed straight from her vision board. It’s girly, it’s bold, it’s elevated, and most importantly, it feels like who Rachel is. 

One of my favorite things about Stang Floral’s brand design is the ballerina pattern honoring her past life as a ballerina. It was really important to Rachel that a nod to her past was included somehow in her brand design, so I felt pulled to honor the structure and natural elegance that ballet and flowers share. The ballerina’s skirts are inspired by flowers, and they have a really beautiful softness and elegant movement to them, which speaks to the overall flower branding design. 

The result of the rebrand? A brand delivering 3x proposal quotes. Here’s a quote from Rachel about how her fresh, new branding design affected her business: 

“Before the rebrand the absolute highest project I quoted was $6,000, and that was like, one time. Today I just sent out a proposal for $15,000. This is 100% because of the work you did. Being able to provide for my family because of florals is amazing and you made that so much easier. People see me now.”

And that is exactly why I do what I do.
